Product — printing and packaging
Hang Tags & Header Cards printing, Kolkata
A hang tag or header card is the printed board that carries the product at retail and holds the size, the standard marks and the barcode. Fotoset prints, laminates, die-cuts and finishes these in one plant in Kolkata.
Photography, design and artwork, colour scanning, offset printing, lamination and silkscreen printing are all carried out in-house on one site. That single-vendor model is the reason exporters and overseas brands place this work with Fotoset: one purchase order, one plant accountable for the finished item, and no sheets travelling between sub-contractors.

What this item is
- Hang tags are printed board tags attached to a product by string, loop lock, plastic tack or metal eyelet.
- Header cards are folded or single-leaf boards stapled or glued over a polybag, a pair of gloves or a bundled set, and are punched for a euro hook or a round hang hole.
- Both carry the same working load: brand, product name, size, standard marks, country of origin, barcode and the short benefit copy that a buyer reads on the shelf.
Typical applications
- Industrial and leather glove pairs, banded or bagged, with a folded header over the cuff
- Welding sleeves, aprons and other PPE sold on a euro-hook peg
- Safety footwear boxes and loose pairs sold with an attached swing tag
- Garment swing tags carrying size, care reference and price
- Retail bundle cards for tools, gardening and DIY ranges
Substrates and stocks available
- Art board 250, 300, 350 and 400 GSM, single or double coated
- Kraft board 300 and 350 GSM for uncoated, recycled-look tags
- Grey-back and white-back duplex board 250 to 450 GSM
- Synthetic and tear-resistant board where the tag must survive damp handling
Size and format range
From 30 x 50 mm swing tags to 210 x 297 mm header cards. Larger formats available up to the maximum sheet size of the press.
Printing process used
- Sheet-fed offset in four-colour process, with additional spot colours where a brand colour must hold across reprints
- Silkscreen printing for heavy opaque whites, metallics and fluorescents that offset cannot reach
- In-house colour scanning and proofing before plate-making
Finishing options
- Gloss, matt and soft-touch lamination, single or both sides
- Spot UV, foil blocking and blind embossing
- Die-cutting to any shape, including glove-outline and leather-swatch shapes
- Round hang hole, euro slot, delta slot, metal eyelet and string attachment
- Creasing, folding, stapling and shrink-banded bundling
Minimum order quantity and turnaround
Minimum order quantity: to be confirmed. Typical turnaround: to be confirmed. Both are quoted against the specific specification, because they depend on the stock, the number of colours and the finishing. Turnaround is always stated in working days from artwork approval rather than from enquiry.
Artwork requirements and accepted file formats
- Press-ready PDF, version 1.4 or later, with 3 mm bleed on all four sides and crop marks outside the trim.
- Native Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW files accepted, with fonts converted to outlines and linked images embedded.
- Images at 300 dpi at final printed size. Line art and barcode artwork supplied as vector wherever possible.
- Colour built in CMYK. Spot colours called out by Pantone reference in the file and in the purchase order.
- Die line supplied on a separate named layer, in a spot colour set to overprint, not on the artwork layer.
