Kolkata, India — established 1983
Printing and packaging for exporters and the brands who buy from them
Fotoset prints export-grade packaging and tagging from one plant in Kolkata: photography, design and artwork, colour scanning, offset printing, lamination and silkscreen printing, all in-house. Founded in 1983 and run by Santanu Roy, the plant has worked for 43 years for manufacturers and exporters of industrial leather gloves, safety wear and PPE, footwear, garments, tea and food.
One vendor covers the whole job. Nothing is sub-contracted for printing, lamination or screen work, so sheets do not travel between factories and one plant is accountable for the finished item.

Everything under one roof
Seven production steps, one plant, one purchase order
The in-house model is the reason buyers stay. A colour problem, a register problem or a die-cut problem is found and corrected in the same building, on the same day, rather than negotiated between a printer, a laminator and a screen shop.
Photography
Product photography shot in-house for catalogues, header cards and tags.
Design and artwork
Layout, typesetting and die-line development, including multi-language text.
Colour scanning
Scanning, separation and proofing before plates are made.
Offset printing
Sheet-fed offset in process and spot colours for tags, labels and cartons.
Lamination
Gloss, matt and soft-touch film lamination, plus aqueous and UV coating.
Silkscreen printing
Opaque whites, metallics and fluorescents on board, film and plastics.
Finishing
Die-cutting, creasing, folding, punching, eyeletting, stitching and binding.

Sectors

Safety Gloves & PPE
Printed packaging for gloves and personal protective equipment carries regulatory information, not just branding.
Footwear
Footwear packaging has to survive stacking, humidity and a long sea passage while still presenting well on a retail shelf.
Garments & Apparel
Garment export packaging is high volume, size-broken and deadline-driven.
Tea & Agro
Kolkata is a tea city and Fotoset has printed for the trade for decades: sample tags, lot tags, packet labels, cartons and chest marks.
Food & FMCG
Food and FMCG packaging carries a mandatory declaration set and a fixed panel layout.
Leather Goods
Kolkata leather exporters need printed matter that matches the material it hangs from.
Two ways in
Whether you export from India or buy from India
For Indian exporters and manufacturers
Competitive rates, stated minimum quantities, turnaround in working days, GST invoicing, pickup and dispatch from Kolkata, and direct WhatsApp access to the owner for repeat runs and seasonal peaks.
For overseas brands sourcing from India
Colour held across reprints and across years, verified barcode print quality, correct reproduction of CE, EN 388, BIS and recycling marks, and multi-language leaflets set in European and Indian scripts. Specify Fotoset and have goods delivered to your nominated Indian supplier.
Plant film
Capability video
A short film of the press, the laminator and the finishing line will sit here once shot.
Quality and record keeping
Repeatable print, not one good run
Proofs are made on the production stock and approved in writing. Ink density is held by computerised ink control and an ink density regulator on the press. A retained sample from the approved run becomes the reference for the next one. Barcodes are imaged with bar width reduction set for the substrate and verified against the grade agreed on the order.
